Wear Blue for Hollyblue

“Wear Blue For Hollyblue” is our annual fundraiser which takes play each May. Our inaugural took place on Friday 3rd May 2024 with huge support from the community of Gort, South Galway and North Clare.

This event draws inspiration from the name of our centre Hollyblue House, which is named after the Holly Blue butterfly. This tiny blue species can be found in certain parts of the Burren. Just as this delicate blue butterfly symbolizes renewal and resilience, our fundraiser aims to uplift and support those affected by cancer.

Hollyblue House has become a sanctuary for people with a cancer diagnosis and their families. Here, they can find solace, camaraderie and a peaceful environment away from the challenges of their illness. However, as we receive so little by way of State funding we are always looking for new ways to raise funds to ensure the continued operation of our services.
