Peer support occurs when people, with similar medical conditions, come together to share coping strategies and provide emotional support for one another.
Our peer support group meets on the first Tuesday of each month, from 10.30-12noon. The group is facilitated by Anne Gallagher.
Peer support can help people with a cancer diagnosis and family caregivers feel supported by a community. It can help navigate the complex process of managing a life-altering illness. Peer support, in person or through web-based platforms, lets a person vent their frustration, learn about new treatments or research protocols, and exchange information.
