Marjolijn Zaayer - Tai Chi Instructor
Marjolijn is a fully qualified Qi Gong instructor, certified with the Irish Health Qi Gong association. She has been practicing Qi Gong for over 10 years, and has been training with several teachers and renowned Qi Gong masters. She wishes to share her experience, both as a physiotherapist and a Qi Gong teacher, with anyone interested in health and the health promoting benefits that regular Qi Gong practice can give for body and mind. Our classes take place each Wednesday from 2pm -3pm and anybody affected by a cancer diagnoses can attend these free classes.
Qi Gong, the original form of Tai Chi, originated in traditional Chinese medicine over 4000 years ago. It consists of a series of gentle flowing movements, which stretch and strengthen the physical body, but also has healing effects on the internal body.
External: increases strength (muscles, bones), flexibility, balance, hydrates joints, relaxes body/loosens physical tension, improves posture
Internal: beneficial for circulation/blood flow, blood pressure, respiratory system, metabolism, immune system, internal organs, nervous system, reduces chronic pain, calms the mind, regulates emotions increases body awareness
Elaine Grehan – Lymph Drainage Therapist
Elaine Grehan completed a certificate of Manual Lymph Drainage and Combined Decongestive Therapy with the Dr. Vodder School, Austria in July 2007. She fulfils the requirement to complete a review every two years to remain on the list of qualified therapists listed with MLD Ireland. .Elaine has treated patients with Lymphoedema both privately and in Cancer Care Centres since 2008.
Maureen Fynes – Complementary Therapist
Maureen Fynes is a practising Reflexologist; she gained a Diploma in Classical and African Reflexology with distinction at the Marguerite Brady School of Reflexology. Her Diploma is accredited by the National Register of Reflexologists in Ireland (NRRI). She is also an active member of the Association of Registered Complementary Health Therapists of Ireland (ARCHTI).
Maureen also practices as a Personal and Executive Coach. As a Coach she is accredited and an active member of the European Coaching and Mentoring Council of Ireland (EMCCI).
